Many colleges may loose their Deemed tag
Across 13 States, 44 institutions have been put on this list. However, in the interest of students studying in various disciplines here, the affidavit maintains that these “universities” can now revert to their erstwhile affiliated college model under the old universities.
Supreme Court of India (SC) has stayed the cancellation of licenses of 44 deemed university. Few days back, Ministry of Education has recommended to SC for cancellation of licenses of 44 deemed universities in India based on the working culture and infrastructure of these deemed universities.
Sc has given March 8, 2010 as date of hearing for the views of students and deemed universities identified by government for cancellation. SC has assured that future of 2 lac students will be taken care fully before taking any decision on this matter.
